Introduction
Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa
They come in a wide variety of sizes, colors, quality, and age: images. Images have been around since the beginning of civilization. In ancient times, images, or pictographs, were used for communication purposes, especially in construction. Images have evolved since then; today, images are much more detailed, vibrant, and meaningful. They now range from digital art, paintings, photography, and graphs.
More and more, digital art is taking over the world. Anywhere one looks, they will see it. Digital art is everywhere: billboards, magazines, the web, newspapers, and TV. Art that already exists is being converted to digital art as well, for example, Leonardo Da Vinci's famous Mona Lisa (right). This 16th-century work-of-art was scanned and converted into digital format. Now made up of trillions of colors, this painting's main colors are Red, Green, and Blue. Despite the three main colors of everything else being Red, Yellow, and Blue, this is where digital art really started to shift out of the ordinary.
