The Association of Math
Teachers of New York State
announces the 6th annual web design contest!
Winners will be announced at the 58th
AMTNYS Annual Meeting in Rye Town
November 6-8, 2008. Winners
in each grade classification will be decided by the website design committee
prior to the conference. There will
be a first prize of $75 and a second prize of $50 for each classification. Prizes will only be given to entries that
meet the requirements stated below. The total number of prizes will be determined
by the number of entries we receive. The prizes will be forwarded to
the winners at their school.
Any NY State student enrolled
in a public, parochial, or private school or undergraduate college, who is
in a grade higher than 5 and who is less than 22 years of age before the deadline
date, may submit an entry. In order to give every school district or college
an equal chance, a maximum of 8 designs will be accepted from any district
or college. Grade classifications
will be Middle – grades 6-8, Senior – grades 9-12, and College (undergraduate)

Individual web designs should be submitted on a PC-Formatted
CD ROM, and should run from the CD. Designs should reflect the
theme, “WORKING TOGETHER FROM START TO FINISH”

A SIGNED Parental Permission document
must be submitted in order for us to use the student's name in connection
with the web page(s).

All entries become the
property of AMTNYS, which has the exclusive right to make all or a portion
of the website, as it is submitted or as it may be modified, improved or
enlarged by either AMTNYS or a Third Party, available for any purpose to
persons or organizations desiring to use the website, or to make it available
for use by others.

Use of Copyrighted Materials--No website
may include materials that were created by another person unless that material
was created before January 1, 1918, and an accurate citation to
the quoted material is included in the entry. In addition, no website may
include material that was created by another person on or after January
1, 1918 without written permission to quote such materials by the creator
or owner of such intellectual property, and a copy of such permission is
made available to AMTNYS. No project may include any trademarked
material(s) without the written permission from the owner(s) of the trademarked
material(s).

following entry information should be attached to each disk's sleeve
or jewel case. (Please use a permanent
marker to write the name of the student and the school on the CD. Please
do NOT put adhesive labels on the CD) The information
should also appear in a MS Word or Adobe PDF file stored on the
disk:
